SCA’s Character development programme comprises the following segments, namely Physical, Social, Moral and Aesthetics education. The Physical and Social development programmes aim to enhance the Respectful Mind and Ethical Mind of the students. This is in line with IB’s mission of creating a better and more peaceful world through activities like community services, sports, leadership as well as art and music.
Student Leadership Programme is an integral part of the school’s Character Development Programme. SCA’s student leadership programme adopts Servant Leadership as a conceptual framework because student leaders are also expected to Lead, Care and Inspire their fellow students to live a meaning life.
The student leadership programme has two simple approaches, namely Training and Opportunities. Training comes in the form of training camps, sharing of experiences, as well as on-the-job training by allowing students to organise school-wide activities and inter-school events.
Opportunities for leadership experience are created to allow students practice what they have learned during training camps and sharing sessions. From Student Council to CCA and class committees in the Day School, to Houses in the Boarding School, students are encouraged to think Win-Win when they serve their community.
Student Council
SCA Student Councilors are elected by their peers to address school issues and organize school events. To be on the student council, a student must have good academic performance and act as a positive role model to peers. Students develop strong leadership skills when they are given the opportunities to voice their thoughts and ideas, especially to those in authority. The Student Council assists the school in deciding which activities or projects are the most beneficial to the students, school, and community.

Co-curriculum activities (CCA)
Co curriculum activities (CCA) is an important part of our school curriculum system. It plays a significant role in the holistic development of students. At the same time, CCA is the most ‘colourful’ part of a student’s school life in SCA. SCA students have always participated actively in pursuing their passions. Through CCA, the school inculcates good moral values into students, cultivates various soft skills necessary for them to excel in society in the future, and also enhances their sense of belonging to the school.
The CCA currently offered by SCA includes: Library, Business Society , Band, Dance, Model-making, Gardening, Football, Basketball, Badminton, Swimming, Mixed martial arts.
Through some CCA activities, students will also find meaning in serving and caring for their peers, community and the world through interactions not only within the school but also beyond the nation’s border. Along the way, they will build resilience and learn to respect others’ opinions and make this world a better place to live in.
House System
In SCA, all students are divided into 3 Houses, they are: Virtuous(明德堂), Visonary(立达堂), Valiant(自强堂).
One of the main strengths of the House system is giving students of all ages the opportunity to work together, creating a truly cohesive environment and ensuring that age is not a barrier to friendship and collaboration.
The House system also allows for the promotion of self-directed learning, giving pupils the chance to practise self-management and leadership. Positivity, encouragement, recognition, and reward drive good behaviour in SCA. House points and House tickets are entered onto each student's record. They're highly prized, and are also counted towards the overall House Cup.
