CCA | 探索“自我”的多重定义

Youths keep going at SCA.

Some are reading in peace,

some are doing sports on the playground,

and some, full of enthusiasm,

are chasing dreams.

They are doing different things they love on the colorful campus.

In the CCA (Co-Curricular Activities) of SCA, students are exploring themselves freely. They can simulate the market and the process of company operation, swim freely in the new and bright swimming pool, immerse themselves in the fun of solving mathematical problems, make themselves more strong-willed through the practice of martial arts, study the formation and development of paleontology, or run on the green field.

Normally, SCAers organize the CCA on their own. Students with the same interests and hobbies gather together and make plans for the CCA of this semester. During the process, teachers with related experience will provide guidance for them. For example, Tiago is a football CCA coach of SCA. With 7 years of youth training experience, he worked for FC Porto、Portuguese San Cosmi Club and was responsible for U10 and U15 football training.

According to SCAers’ hobbies, the Primary School Department will organize different activities this semester, such as swimming, basketball, badminton, calligraphy, mathematics competition, paleontology research, dragon and lion dance, drama review, etc., while the Middle School Department will offer courses such as band, dance, swimming, martial arts, gardening, football, business, etc.. These activities can meet the different needs of students and are conducive to individual development and personality shaping of the students.

The CCA of each Department started this semester!

MS CCA

"I was a little nervous when I had such an interview for the first time, but made it!"

In the Middle School Department, unlike the past, the CCA of this semester requires students to have interviews in order to choose the most suitable activities. With careful consideration, students have chosen three items and submitted application forms. Then, they can prepare for this week's interview in advance.

Let’s have a look at how SCAers’ performed in the interviews!

Some students overcame nervousness, and, bravely and decisively, expressed their views. Some, having practiced many times, danced with much grace. Some communicated confidently with the interviewers in fluent English.

"I failed many times when planting in the past. Later, I realized that it takes a certain amount of time for plants to grow. Just wait patiently, and, then, there will be a surprise for you", said a student to the interviewers in the interview for a horticultural course.

PS CCA

This week, primary school students took their first CCA course.

In the CCA dragon and lion dance, under the guidance of teachers, students who hid in the mighty lion's head “walked in a crouch and drew a triangle with the lion's head." In the paleontological research classroom, students followed teachers’ instructions and red terminology aloud in English. In the football activity, they ran cheerfully and freely on the pitch. In the mathematics competition course, students concentrated on working out math problems.

The afternoon sunshine falls on the aspiring faces of SCAers. Firmly and ambitiously, they are absorbed in their activities.

SCA hopes to help students tap their potential and explore more possibilities through the CCA. By participating in different CCA projects, they can gradually acquire competences such as leadership, cooperation ability and concentration that are difficult to learn in class, homework and examinations. Through these projects, they can achieve all-round personal development in practice.

Dear SCAers, just play with all you have. Just go to discover and try new things. Keep going, explore and create everything you love.
